Fall Baking
I was in the mood to bake this morning, so I ran to the grocery store for some baking supplies. I got home and made pumpkin bars, no-bake chocolate peanut butter bon-bons and cinnamon chocolate snowballs. The pumpkin bars made my house smell so good while they were baking, made it really feel like a fall day. While the bars were baking I made up the peanut butter bon-bons, which are so easy to make...you just mix 1 cup each of peanut butter and powdered sugar and 1 stick of butter...for the chocolate you just melt 1/2 a bag of chocolate chips. When you have done all of that you roll the peanut butter mixture into bon-bons and then dip them in the melted chocolate and place them on waxed paper to set up. The cinnamon chocolate snowballs are delicious. It is like having mini french toast bon-bons. They are so easy to make as well and only take 10 minutes to bake and then when you take them out of the oven you roll them in powdered sugar. I can't wait for my husband, David, to get home and try all of the delicious goodies that I made today.

Homemade Apple Pie
David brought home red delicious apples from his parents house this morning...so I thought that I would make a homemade apple pie...I hope it tastes as good as it looks!
Homemade Chocolate/Chocolate Chip Muffins
David asked me to make these, which is surprising, because he isn't much of a chocolate fan. While we were on our Honeymoon, we stayed at a hotel in Gardiner, Montana that had these muffins for breakfast. The two days that we stayed at this hotel, he ate them and kept telling me how good they were. I told him when we got home that I would find a recipe for them and make them for him. Today was the day for me to make them. They were actually really easy to make and smelled fantastic. After he ate his lunch, he tried one and told me they tasted just like the ones from the hotel. I also asked him whether they tasted like cupcakes or muffins and he said the top tasted like cake and the bottoms of the muffins tasted like muffins.
Leftover Smokies
We made little smokies and nachos the other night for supper and we had leftovers of the smokies. What I like to do with them is make David a sandwich with them, if I have french bread. What I do with the leftover smokies and french bread, is I cut the french bread in half and then slice it open. I add provolone cheese to the bread halves and broil them to melt the cheese. Once the cheese has melted a little bit, I take it back out of the oven and put the leftover smokies on one half of the sandwich and cover the smokies in shredded mozzarella cheese. I then put it back into the oven and broil it until the mozzarella has melted. Once it is toasted enough, I cover the smokies and cheese in BBQ sauce. It looks and smells delicious!

Smells like Thanksgiving
Just got done making crumbly pumpkin bars and banana bread. It smells fantastic in our house right now. I will post pictures once my husband gets home and I can get my digital camera out of his car. I also listened to Frank Sinatra while baking them and I just coudn't stop with the pumpkin bars, so I decided to mash the 2 ripe bananas we had left and make some banana bread. Hopefully David will like them. I will be curious to see how the pumpkin bars taste since I have never had them this way before, I have only had them with the cream cheese frosting. Will post details later.
Later...David loved the crumbly pumpkin bars and the slice of banana bread...he said they were delicious.

Explaination of a Constant Goodies Baker
I am starting a blog for many reasons...the main reason though...is that I love to bake and make random combinations of food. I recently got married and my husband will eat pretty much any combinaton of food I put in front of him. He is a huge fan of ranch dressing and he usually eats ranch with every meal. I want to start this blog to show and tell about what I bake on a regular basis and also what I cook for lunch and supper most days. I plan on taking pics to go along with the blog I am writing that day...whether it be a pie, cookies or pizza...I plan on showing the outcome of what I make. I no longer work...so I spend many of my days looking up recipes, watching food shows and just thinking about different combinations of food. Just like the other day, my husband turned to me right after we woke up and said what are you thinking about and I said I had so many recipes and food ideas going through my head that I might as well get up and start looking them up, because I couldn't fall back asleep. One thing that I can't wait to make is an Apple Pie...that is my weakness this year, whether it be caramel-walnut applie pie, dutch apple pie or just good ol'fashion apple pie...I WILL learn how to bake one. I also want to put in here, that you will see that I do bake a variety of goodies, but I rarely try them. I get the answer I want about my bakinng and cooking, by watching the people's reaction that eat them. I do sometimes have to try them, just because of the reaction I get. I am inspired to do this for many reasons, but the main reason I bake is because, I truly enjoy doing it. Oh, and one more thing...I usually only listen to Frank Sinatra or Singers and Swing on Music Choice, because that era of music soothes my soul and puts me in a great state of mind!
